The Worship Pastor will be a committed Christian with a biblical faith in accordance with the Evangelical Alliance Statement of Faith. They will demonstrate a growing personal faith in Jesus Christ, a mature charismatic spirituality, a good knowledge of the scriptures and an openness to the whole work of the Holy Spirit.

At St Matthew’s we have a passionate staff team currently consisting of our Vicar, Worship Pastor, Youth and Children’s Work Leader, Young Women’s and Families Worker, and our Church Office Coordinator. We are looking for a team player who has a vision for worship but is also committed to the overall mission of the church.

The Worship Pastor role can be part-time (25 hours) or combined with an Assistant Leader role (15 hours) to make a full-time position. (The Assistant Leader role is only available in combination with the Worship Pastor role and not as a separate part-time position.)

The church is situated near Worthing station at the heart of the town which has a population of 110,000. We are in an area where there is both social deprivation and renewal. There are many flats and terraced houses with young adults, young families and some older people.
