Hope into Action
Hope into Action’s CommunityConnectis asmall pilotproject with a big vision.Using the experience we havedeveloped over the last 15 years, we want toplant and grow a new approachto providing relational intervention to individuals who are at risk of homelessness. It will extend Hope into Action’s tried and tested relational, churchbased model to those who do not live in our accommodation. It is part of our strategic commitment to invest in new models which can empower even more churches to end homelessness.
We will be running a pilot of CommunityConnect over the coming year (2026/27) which will lead to the growth of the model in years 2 and 3 (2027-29).It will complement Hope into Action’s core model of supported housing and aligns directly with the government’s strategic emphasis on community-basedsupport to prevent homelessness.
Our vision is to buildanationwidecommunity-based modelwhich empowers churches tosupport vulnerable peopleandstop them becominghomeless or returning to homelessness. Rather than the‘crisis responses’ofdistributing food andresources, we are focussing onthechronic issuesofbuildingrelationships and strengthening community. In short,it’sabout sharingloveand acceptanceto those on the margins of our communities and a change that lasts.
