The Church of Scotland’s vision is to develop resource churches to be a hub for mission, planting new churches, revitalising existing ones, and developing leaders, intentionally sharing its people and skills to expand the church’s reach across a city or region, rather than just growing itself.
This vision begins with mission and discipleship amongst students and young adults, enabling them to discover and live out God’s purpose for their lives by creating belonging, building community, and raising a generation who lead others in faith.

To begin this work in Glasgow, we must invest intentionally in leadership, discipleship, and mission within the city-centre and east-end, young adult and student population.

Main Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Conduct a community audit of the city centre and immediate east end area, to develop and implement mission strategies, often focusing on new worshipping
  communities, and community engagement.
• Mission: Create environments and host events which give students and young-adults first time opportunities to encounter Jesus and hear the gospel message.
• Leadership development: Enable local or city-wide student and young-adult-focused discipleship and mission opportunities which support faith and leadership development and foster a disciple-making culture.
• Networking & Support: Build relationships with universities, other local churches and community groups to foster collaboration for discipleship and mission.
• Communication & Partnership: Encourage partnership across Church of Scotland congregations to bring life and opportunity in discipleship, mission and leadership development which strengthens leadership teams across all participating congregations.
• Decision-making: Participate in the decision-making process of the Resource Church Kirk Session for the development of mission and ministry
