The Diocese of Chelmsford is looking for an organised Part Time Secretary.  The successful applicant will be able to ensure the effective operation of the DDO’s office, working alongside the Diocesan Director of Ordinands to ensure quality and effectiveness of the selection processes of Ordination.

If you:

  • are a skilled administrator, with excellent IT skills, (MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • organised with good attention to detail
  • good interpersonal skills with a confident welcoming manner
  • ability to be non-judgemental and observe confidentiality
  • have some understanding of the Church of England and its structure and values

The Diocese of Chelmsford is vibrant and growing with 465 parishes across Essex and East London.   All our parishes are separate and independent charities.  The Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Finance (CDBF) is the charity that manages the affairs of the diocese and supports parishes, schools and church leaders in their ministry.

Working hours: 20 per week. Monday – Friday 9.00 am – 1.00 pm.

Salary: £20,000 to £22,000 p.a. pro rata subject to experience and qualifications. We offer a range of benefits, including flexible working, a competitive pension scheme and a city centre office location.
