The Astwell Benefice: Six Churches, One Church

Whilst always respecting the individual histories and identities of our six ancient buildings and their communities, we work as one, together as a United Benefice, in governance, in mission and in ministry.”

The churches of Helmdon, Lois Weedon, Radstone, Syresham, Wappenham and Whitfield in beautiful South Northamptonshire are working towards becoming a single PCC benefice. This structural simplification removes the need for constant duplication and enables the churches to focus on shared priorities. The Astwell Benefice is trailblazing this new way of working. These are exciting times!

We are looking for a Rector who will:

  • work with us as we move towards a new united structure in this rural benefice
  • see work with children, young people and families as a priority
  • maintain good links with our local schools
  • provide warm hearted pastoral care for our communities
  • inspire and uplift our congregations
  • be a team player, enabling participation and leadership
  • understand the challenges and opportunities of rural ministry
