The Filmmaker is a role within the HTB Media team, responsible for concepting, shooting and editing the video content that carries HTB’s vision and voice across Sunday Services, campaigns and church life.

This is a hands-on production role covering the full video pipeline from scripting and storyboarding through to shooting, editing and delivery for use across social media, the website, email and in-service screens. The role holder will bring a strong creative eye, technical craft and an instinct for story, working within a busy, multidisciplinary team across a range of exciting projects.

The Filmmaker will also look after church volunteers on a Sunday, helping build up the video content that documents the life of the church, and will coach and develop volunteer videographers as part of that.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Create and deliver original, compelling video content for Sunday Services and all aspects of Church life, including key campaign projects such as Alpha, Christmas and Easter.
  • Concept, storyboard, organise, shoot, edit and deliver high-quality video content across a range of formats and lengths, from short-form social cuts to longer-form service and campaign films.
  • Write and develop scripts for video content.
  • Collaborate with third-party suppliers, including briefing, concept development, casting, shooting and editing, to deliver projects on time, within the brief, and within budget.
  • Attend Sunday Services twice a month to capture, edit and deliver engaging video content.
  • Work collaboratively with the Comms and Brand Manager, MarComms Lead and Digital Storyteller to deliver video content that meets our comms and branding strategy and increases the impact of our communications channels, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Websites, Emails, and any new relevant channels.
  • Ensure all video content meets the brief, supports HTB’s vision, maintains editorial standards and upholds our tone of voice and brand guidelines.

Requirements

The following skills and experience form the minimum requirements for the role:

 

  • Proven portfolio demonstrating concepting, shooting and editing of video content
  • Scriptwriting for video content
  • Casting experience, including managing casting calls and working with casting agencies
  • Excellent level of shooting on various cameras, particularly Fs7, Fs5, including use of gimbals, sliders and steady cams
  • Excellent video editing and animation skills
  • Excellent lighting and audio experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite including InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro
