Are you experience in running the finance systems for a £10m organisation and associated payroll and controls to the trustees and  management teams? Can you manage a team of 4, organise, plan and deliver to a tight timetable in an open and inclusive no fear of failure culture?

The Role

We’re the Diocese of Bristol – the Church of England across Bristol, South Gloucester, North Wiltshire and Swindon. The Diocese of Bristol is in the early stages of implementing an exciting new £23m, 5 year investment strategy designed to grow the reach, influence, social and spiritual mission of the Diocese.

We want to transform our communities through positive social change and long-term environmental and financial sustainability. The work you do will help focus the project and program management in delivering the best return both in social, spiritual impact but also environmental influence.

To achieve this, we are building a dynamic new Finance function to implement new Access Financial modules for P2P and accrual accounting. We have a strong balance sheet with £74m in investments and assets. You will be responsible for the data transactions, controls, reconciliations and ensuring the business Intelligence and department managers have timely, reliable transactions reporting in order to make informed decisions.

At the same time you will own the Year End and Audit process ensuring we complete a clean audit within a set timetable.

Month end controls, VAT, Pension and Payroll processing will fall within your team.
