Governance Manager

Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich

The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich is seeking an experienced Governance Manager to support the Diocesan Secretary and to ensure the smooth running and effective organisation of key governance and information processes in the Diocese.

The successful candidate’s principle accountabilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the meetings of the Diocesan Board of Finance and its sub-committees under the direction of the Diocesan Secretary
  • Managing all aspects of synodical governance, including elections eg Diocesan Synod and Bishop’s Council, in consultation with the Diocesan Secreatary.  They will also manage correspondence concerning the business of the Diocesan Synod and its elections.
  • Working with our Data Analyst to actively manage annual data collection from parishes e.g. Stats for Mission, electoral roll, finance returns, energy footprint and Articles of Association.
  • Assisting with managing and maintaining the Diocesan Risk Register.
  • Assisting with keeping our internal CMS system accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with oversight and maintenance of all internal policies.

Part-time – 21 hours per week

Salary: Pro-rata £30,000 – £32,000 per annum
