Bishop’s Adviser in Pastoral Care and Counselling

Could you be called to use your experience as a counsellor or psychotherapist to manage the Counselling Service for the Diocese of Worcester?

The acting Bishop of Worcester is looking for a self-employed consultant who will co-ordinate our Diocesan Counselling Service. The service provides vital emotional and psychological help for clergy and their families, lay workers and diocesan employees.

The role of Bishop’s Adviser will also hold a wider brief for the well-being of clergy and is involved in other initiatives which aim to support clergy in their personal and ministerial development, including reflective practice.

You will work alongside a team who are committed to the wellbeing of clergy and their families. Day to day the role involves matching clients to counsellors and maintaining, supporting and building a network of established and new counsellors; all the while ensuring the quality of all counselling is maintained and ethically administered. You will also enjoy contributing to training initiatives and ministerial development.
