Hope into Action UK
You will work in partnership with local churches to support and empower tenants in our homes. These tenants will have experienced homelessness and it will be your role to support tenants to set and work towards personal goals and to empower them towards a fulfilled life, enabling them to move on to independent living.
Hours are negotiable but will be 2 or 3 days a week (16-24 hours). You will be based in the Hope into Action Hope Centre working alongside the Peterborough team and the rest of our Support Centre.
Each home is partnered with a local church who provide love and friendship for the tenants that you will also support. This will involve actively engaging with the church and maintaining church interest in the Hope into Action project. The role includes training, equipping, and encouraging church volunteers in their role as mentors and befrienders to the tenants.
About you
You will be passionate about our work with the homeless and share our values. You will be able to work with members of the public, professional bodies and churches. You will need to be able to work with tenants with support needs, from a wide range of backgrounds.
We value good listening skills. The ability to work in a flexible team and learn new skills is important as we foster working within a strong supportive team.
